Renewable energy is now widely acknowledged as a key solution to our economic, climate change, and foreign oil dependence challenges. Among renewables, geothermal energy for building heating and cooling provides the greatest cost-effective energy efficiency, with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency calling geothermal "the most energy-efficient, environmentally clean, and cost-effective space conditioning systems available." 

Reducing the amount of energy used to heat and cool buildings is one of the most meaningful ways we can cut our nation's energy use and carbon footprint. Buildings account for roughly 70 percent of our population's total energy use and approximately 35 percent of the energy consumed in buildings is used for air conditioning and heating. This equates to about the same amount of CO2 emitted by the entire transportation sector. 

Our geothermal building systems tap into the cycle of renewable energy in our natural world. These systems harvest solar energy stored in the earth to provide heat in the winter and use the ground to remove heat from buildings in the summer. By completely eliminating the need for fossil fuels, Indie Energy reduces its customers exposure to volatile energy prices.
