Creating Green JobsTo create a new societal energy infrastructure, our nation must move forward aggressively to train and mobilize a new generation of workers. The good news is that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 has made both green energy and green jobs high priorities, with green-collar workforce development receiving major funding support. We have the opportunity to connect the organizations, capital and technologies needed to develop both our natural and human resources. One of our country's most valuable and under-utilized natural resources is the large number of unemployed and under-employed citizens. This potential workforce is the perfect environment for the new energy economy to take root. |
