Indie Energy is a global leader in smart geothermal technology for heating and cooling both existing and new buildings. Indie Energy was formed in 2006 with a mission to help design and build a new energy economy. At that time, the U.S. Council of Mayors was beginning to adopt the "2030 Challenge" to make cities carbon neutral. Heating, cooling, and ventilation of buildings accounted for a staggering 48 percent of all U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. The U.S. price tag was projected to exceed $326 billion by 2007, and continue to grow. Something had to be done, and it was clear that new, innovative enterprises could make a big difference by breaking out of old patterns. 

Inspired by this opportunity, we set out to build an organization that could positively impact our economy, communities and environment. We envisioned a "triple bottom line" company, one that would provide: Profits for users, green jobs, and renewable energy that safeguards our world. 

Driven by these core beliefs, Indie Energy has emerged as a leader in smart geothermal technologies, developing innovations that enable the widespread adoption of geothermal energy for heating and cooling buildings. Our state-of-the art geothermal building systems deliver the economic and environmental advantages of clean, renewable energy to the commercial, residential, and public building sectors at a much lower cost than fossil fuels.
